This sculpture is called  "Transcendence" and it represents the concept of transcending the physical self. The fragmented pieces rising off the torso symbolizes the process of moving beyond the confines of the physical form to attain a higher state of being.

 

The rising fragments also imply a sense of elevation or enlightenment, as if the inner essence of the person is breaking free and raising up.

 

 "Transcendence” reminds us that we have the capacity to overcome our biological programming and live a more nuanced life.
